Biography

Fred Zelley has been practicing law for more than 30 years, focusing primarily in the areas of Land Use, Real Estate, and Civil Litigation. He represents applicants before numerous zoning boards of adjustment, planning boards, and joint land use boards in Somerset, Morris, Union, Hunterdon, and surrounding counties. Fred also handles both residential and commercial real estate transactions, including purchase and sale transactions and lease transactions.

Fred is also an accomplished civil litigator, representing clients in the Law and Chancery Divisions of the Superior Court of New Jersey in disputes involving Real Property Rights, Tenancies, Construction, Home Improvement, and Consumer Fraud.

Experience

Prior to joining Herold Law, Fred was a partner with Post Polak in Roseland and Millington; a principal of Bisogno, Loeffler & Zelley in Basking Ridge; and an associate with Bross, Strickland, Cary, Grossman & lcaza in Newark. Prior to beginning his practice, Fred was Law Clerk to the Honorable Marilyn Rhyne Herr in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Hunterdon County.

Fred is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and received his law degree from Rutgers Law School in Newark.

Fred is a lifelong New Jersey resident, presently residing in Randolph with his wife and five children. He is an active member of the Randolph Rescue Squad and a Trustee of the Millbrook United Methodist Church in Randolph. He is an Eagle Scout and a retired Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 166 in Randolph. He is an avid automobile enthusiast and enjoys hiking, camping, and fishing.
