Richard H. Herold (1930-2010)

Mr. Herold specialized in trust and estate planning and administration. His counseling included the design of sophisticated tax sensitive documents, which also recognized the importance of family and business relationships in the lives of his clients. He had been a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel since 1978, and had lectured both lay and professional groups.

Long a contributing columnist to Recorder Publishing Company newspapers, he had also published both professional and general commentaries in numerous legal publications and newspapers.

Mr. Herold served for many years as Vice Chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court's Advisory Committee on Professional Ethics. He had also served as a Trustee, former President, and Trustee Emeritus of the Bonnie Brae Educational Center.

Mr. Herold founded this firm in 1980.

He served in the U.S. Navy to the rank of Lieutenant and saw combat in Korea.

Chair, Gubernatorial Commission on Values Education, Chair, Somerset County Ethics Committee, Chair, Somerset County Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee; President, Somerset County Legal Aid Society; Trustee, Morristown Memorial Health Foundation, Trustee, Princeton Foundation for Biologic Medicine; Director, First National Bank of Central Jersey, Director, Somerset Trust Company, and Director, Ultra Bancorporation; Trustee, Vice Chair of the New Jersey Supreme Court's Advisory Committee on Professional Ethics Trustee, former President, and Trustee Emeritus of the Bonnie Brae Educational Center.
