Anthony J. Reitano, Jr.
Mr. Reitano has specialized in the environmental field first as an engineer and later as an attorney for more than 30 years. He currently leads the firm's environmental practice group. He has negotiated numerous commercial real estate contracts with regard to environmental issues and remediation agreements, including Brownfield's agreements for investigation and remediation of hazardous substances. Mr. Reitano has been and is involved in defending agency enforcement actions, including trying such actions before Administrative Law Judges and Superfund actions, negotiating Administrative Consent Orders and Memorandum of Agreements with state and federal agencies, and has worked with responsible parties to obtain cost-effective remediation objectives both for active sites and Brownfields. He was instrumental in negotiating one of the three United States Environmental Protection Agency Region II TSCA risk based cleanup approvals that have been issued pursuant to the 1998 TSCA amendments. In the first half of 2005, Mr. Reitano completed negotiating a first-of-its-kind remediation liability transfer agreement on behalf of a chemical company with a remediation contractor and the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and, for another manufacturing client, a unique air pollution reduction agreement.
